Thank you for checking us out! green UP Deerfield is the introductory program of a recycled version of Deerfield's Energy and Resource Recovery Commission. This refreshed commission will advise Deerfield's leaders on sustainable issues, educate members of our community on how to live harmoniously with nature, and advocate for green solutions in all aspects of society.
We look forward to rolling up our sleeves and working with Deerfield's residents, our local businesses, neighboring communities, and YOU; all partnering to make Deerfield a sustainable community in a sustainble world.
On Saturday, June 27, 2009 from 7 am to Noon, green UP Deerfield will be at the farmer's market. At the market, committe chairman Matt Wylie, and committee member Brian Rice will be there to greet you and share some easy tips on how you can recycle and conserve water and energy.
Also on display will be renderings of the proposed Village Green of Deerfield. To be located in the public parking lot north of Deerfield Road, the Village Green will provide a lush green public gathering place that will feature many sustainable practices. The proposal will be discussed next by the Village Board at a workshop meeting on July 27th. Come and learn what it is all about.
Be sure to check out our table!

June 25th marked the launch of our official website. Though still in the early stages of development, we have launched the site to provide the residents of Deerfield with the very latest information about our committee and its projects. Over the coming months we'll establish a blog and load the site with even more news and resources to share!
